The countdown is on! In just 18 days we will be finding out if this little peanut is a girl or boy 🙂 I’m so damn excited I can’t hold it in!!! Picking out the baby names was SO much fun- we finally made our decisions. It was so fun thinking of our future little one and picturing what it would be like to call them by the names we picked out. Want to know what they are? Hehe how could you not?!!?
If it’s a girl it will be Ella Rosemarie Johnson.
If it’s a boy it will be Everett Owen Johnson.
Rosemarie is the name of my step-grandmother. She was the sweetest person you could ever meet. She accepted my entire family with open arms and I’m so honored to use her name if we have a little girl. We would call her Ella Rose for short, isn’t it pretty?!?
Aaron and I spent a lot of time together in Owen Science Library while we were in graduate school. We walked by this building together every single day on our way to class. We wanted to incorporate WSU somehow since it’s such a special place for us, so Owen seemed like the perfect middle name. We would call him Evi for short 🙂
I’m beyond excited to find out the gender of our little one. I think about it everyday. I can’t wait to share the news with all our family and friends.
I’m exactly 15 weeks and 5 days pregnant and I think I’m starting to show just a little:
To honor the little baby bump I have going on I came up with a list of my 2nd trimester favorites. Here’s a run down of the things I’m finding most useful at this point in the pregnancy:
#1 Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Stretch Mark Cream #2 Snoogle Pillow #3 MUJI Aroma Diffuser with Kis Essential Oils #4 Fun Lip Gloss from Ulta #5 Dove Dark Chocolate with Sea Salt Caramel #6 Scoop Neck Long Sleeve Maternity Shirt
The stretch mark cream was a gift and I use it everyday. It smells so good and I definitely want to prevent getting those stretch marks if possible. Next up is a Snoogle Pillow- this was a suggestion from a friend of mine and I ordered it almost immediately. It’s a little extreme but I can’t wait to try it out. Right now I’m up to three pillows in the bed and still find myself tossing and turning at night, so I’m hoping this will fix that problem. The Aroma Diffuser was a gift from my Dad last Christmas but I have been using it almost every night. It helps me relax and also helped in the 1st trimester with calming my nausea. Right now peppermint is my favorite scent but I also love orange blossom and lemongrass. The lip gloss is kind of silly, but on the days were I’m not feeling so pretty (or more like a puffy whale) it gives me a little confidence boost. There are a ton of options at Ulta, that’s where I got mine. The chocolate was sent to me in a pregnancy care package (such a thoughtful gift!) and I realized pretty quickly that this was a must. It helps when I’m craving something sweet and a small piece of chocolate after dinner is a lot better than a whole tub of ice cream. It really helps to keep me eating healthy so I can take care of this baby right from the start. Up next are some comfy pregnancy shirts. I got mine from Old Navy and Target. The weather is starting to cool down so it’s nice to have such a comfortable long sleeve shirt. They are thin so they are perfect for the cool mornings and hotter afternoons that always seem to happen this time of year. Last are my pregnancy podcasts. These two are just my favorites at the moment but there are a lot of options out there. I’ve been listening to Pregtastic and The Birth Hour on my trips to and from work. Some of it I totally disagree with, but they really help give you an idea of what to expect during your pregnancy and also have good advice on how to handle different birthing situations. I totally recommend them to anyone who wants to learn more about pregnancy and delivery/birth.
This is turning out to be a pretty big post so I think I will end it there. I hope you like the baby names we picked out as much as we do 🙂 and I hope you enjoyed hearing my 2nd trimester favs.
Happy Halloween Everyone!!
