It’s been at least a month since I last updated my blog (it feels good to write again!). SO much has happened! Your Dad and I moved from Idaho to Ohio. The drive took 4 days total and really wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be. We had a week to get the house unpacked and organized and I started my new job at Battelle on August 8th. So far it’s absolutely amazing. I’ve already started helping on several projects and really enjoy my days at work. I joined the gym at work and try to get up in the morning to workout and shower before my day starts. Some days I don’t make it in the morning and I just go on my lunch break. It’s really nice. Your Dad is working from home and as far as I can tell he likes it- it definitely took some getting used to, but he seems to be enjoying it. He starts taking classes in a month to get his computer science degree. I am so proud of him for making the decision to take classes- it’s going to be fun to watch him as he learns all these new and exciting things!
Here’s some picks of our new place (but it’s still a work in progress):
Mid-August we flew to California for a wedding. Mike Baron (a friend from mine from New Zealand) got married in Sonoma Valley. It was a beautiful ceremony and we had a great time exploring the area, we went to Napa for an afternoon and stopped in a couple wineries. We even made it to the Golden Gate Bridge! The weekend went by so fast- but it was definitely worth the trip.
I found out the week before we flew to California that I was pregnant for the third time. Do you believe it? I sure didn’t. It happened so fast this time and boy-o-boy has it been rough. I feel very sick most of my days, but I am taking this as a good sign and staying positive that this pregnancy will stick- I’m not so sure I can handle a third miscarriage. I found out on my lunch break at work on a random Monday so I stopped at a bundt cake bakery on the way home and got Aaron a little surprise to tell him the good news.
The “3” candle is actually a sparkler and I got it because third time’s a charm right?!? We lit the sparkler and prayed like mad that this time around will be a happy experience. As of today I am 6 weeks and 6 days. And the pregnancy symptoms are going strong! We told Grandma and Grandpa Johnson over a video chat last week and we plan on telling my side of the family this weekend after your Aunt Lauryn’s baby shower is over. As for me, I feel nervous and excited all at the same time. I’m just trying my best to take it easy and relax as much as possible. Please please please let this be a healthy pregnancy. I need it to be.
I think that’s it for my updates. Now that we are settled I should be able to update more on our life and new exciting pregnancy. I’m looking forward to next weekend when I drive home for my sister’s baby shower. I’m pretty sure that Grandma Donisi went overboard for the party (just like always) so I will take lots of pics and write a post on the fun day! I’ll also update you on how it goes telling my family about the little bean growing in my tummy. It’s going to be a great weekend!
