Year One As Husband and Wife

Aaron and I have officially been married for one year.  I just wanted to take a small moment and get my thoughts down on paper so I can remember this moment forever.

I am more in love with your Dad than I ever thought possible.  Each day he shows me how much fun life can be and how to always smile no matter what.  Our relationship has grown so much and we have both learned so much from each other.  I learned how to never lose faith in us or our marriage.  Your Dad learned that sometimes life gets hard, but it’s always best to keep working for a better future.  He has invested a lot of time into learning how to code, a hobby that he has always been interested in.  I have learned the importance of patience, both with your Dad but also in my own life.

This past year has been a whirlwind of both good and bad.  We had the most amazing wedding ever followed by the best honeymoon we could have asked for.  We were surrounded by the love and support of our families as we began our life together has husband and wife.  We decided that we wanted to grow our little family and got pregnant.  We lost the baby and then got pregnant again not too long after.  We got to share in the excitement as we found out that Lauryn and Corey are expecting a little one. Then we got to share in even more excitement when we found out that Eddie and Jen were also expecting.  We job searched like CRAZY, still without luck but with confidence that it will all work out.  I have been on several interviews and we have high hopes that a fun new adventure is just around the corner.  Your Dad and I have been on some pretty amazing adventures.  We went to Yellowstone, Jackson, Boston and PA.  Your Dad even went to Hungary and Amsterdam!  We even enjoyed some long weekends in Idaho Falls just relaxing and enjoying each other’s company.  Sometimes the boring weekends end up being the best weekends.  We downsized and moved into a new apartment.  We rang in the New Year right right in the middle of the move!  I think it’s safe to say that we had a very busy, but very fulfilling year.

There have definitely been some rocky moments but through it all we remained strong and more in love than ever.  We have supported and cared for each other to get through each hurdle and really spent some pretty amazing moments together.  I am beyond blessed with the little life we have built for ourselves.  I cherish every day I get to spend with your Dad.  I said on our wedding day that he stole my heart and I wanted him to keep it forever.  I still feel that way and I always will.

I love you Mr. Aaron Johnson.  You are my husband, my soulmate and my best friend.
